Listing Guidelines
Who can list
Owners, and managers who are authorised by the owner, of spaces that can legally host private or corporate events.
What makes a great listing
- At least three clear, recent, unfiltered photographs of the actual space.
- Honest capacities for seated and standing guests, for each separate space.
- Clear prices with their basis — per hour, per session, per day, per person or minimum spend — and all additional charges, deposits and taxes.
- Accurate policies for catering, alcohol, music timings, decorators and parking.
Private homes and your privacy
If you list a private home, villa or farmhouse, you can keep your house name and exact location private. Use a descriptive listing title instead of a name — for example “Poolside Villa with Lawn, Whitefield” — and add your house name in the private field. We show only the area on the map; your name, number, exact pin and directions go only to signed-in guests who request your contact.
What is not allowed
- Long-term residential rentals or property sales.
- Misleading photos, prices or claims of verification.
- Personal contact details inside descriptions or photos.
Review
Every listing is reviewed before publishing. We may request changes or decline listings that do not meet these guidelines.
Host minimum standards
Every host must meet these standards to list and stay listed on Party Properties. They sit alongside our Terms and Conditions (section 6) and our Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy (section 4). Listing on Party Properties does not mean we have inspected your venue or checked your licences: you remain responsible for them.
1. Permissions and licences
- You own the space, or have the owner’s written authority to let it for events, and no lease, society bye-law, title condition or zoning rule stops you.
- You hold the licences and registrations your venue and events need. Depending on the event, these may include a trade licence, fire safety clearance where your building requires it, FSSAI registration if you serve food, and GST registration and invoices where applicable.
- Serving alcohol at an event needs the right excise licence. In Karnataka, functions and private parties generally need an occasional (CL-5) licence from the Excise Department unless the venue is already licensed. Check the rules in your state, and state your alcohol policy clearly on your listing.
- Keep copies ready. We may ask for proof before approving your listing or while it is live.
2. Noise and timings
- Under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, loudspeakers and amplified music are not allowed outdoors between 10 pm and 6 am, unless a specific permission applies. Follow any stricter local or police orders too.
- Show your music cut-off time and any sound limits on your listing, and tell guests before they pay.
- Arrange police or local permission for amplified sound where it is required.
3. Fire and electrical safety
- Keep working, in-date fire extinguishers, and clear, signed exits. Never let decor or furniture block escape routes.
- Use safe wiring for lighting, sound and generators. No open flames, sky lanterns or fireworks unless they are permitted and safe for your venue.
- Never host more people than you can host safely. The capacity on your listing must be a real, safe number.
4. Pools, water and children
- State clearly on your listing, and in writing to the guest, whether a lifeguard is provided.
- Mark pool depths, and use a gate or cover when the pool is not in use.
- Tell guests about hazards such as unfenced water, terraces without railings, steep stairs or construction nearby.
- Keep play areas and equipment safe, clean and suitable for the ages invited.
5. Guest care and facilities
- Keep a first-aid kit on site, and make sure a named person is reachable throughout every event.
- Provide clean washrooms and drinking water, and have a plan for waste disposal and clean-up.
- Treat every guest fairly and without discrimination.
6. Fair dealing
- Before taking any money, send the guest in writing the total price, taxes, advance, security deposit, any extra charges and the cancellation policy that applies.
- Give a receipt for every payment, and a tax invoice where GST law requires one.
- If you cancel, refund everything the guest paid, in full, within 7 working days. Return security deposits within 7 working days after the event, with any deductions itemised in writing.
- Reply to enquiries promptly and honestly, and use guest details only for that guest’s event.
If a host falls short
We may ask for changes, pause a listing or remove it, as set out in our Terms. If you have a concern about a venue, write to us at listing@partyproperties.in with your enquiry reference.
